Company History
In January of 1990, the implementation of the GST and the desire to move into computer sales gave Mike Flanagan the incentive to form Canada Business Services.
Having worked as a cash register technician for his father Ferg Flanagan at Chatham Office Supply for several years, he knew he would have a busy year upgrading cash systems to handle the new tax. His knowledge in computers and electronics would enable him to service what he sold.
He acquired the property at 592 Queen Street and Canada Business Services was born. The Business undertook renovations and three business partners. Canada Business Services worked out of this location for the next 8 years.
In 1998, Canada Business Services expanded its operations and moved three doors down to 580 Queen Street, the former Shoppers Drug Mart building. This gave them the much needed space for a larger service department and show room.
Mike Flanagan once again became the sole proprietor of CBS in 2013 and his son is now the third generation to work in the field of home and office technology. Canada Business Services is considered a small family business with relatives and friends as valuable employees.
The one thing that has not changed over the 30 years of its existence is the motto, “Where the Service Counts as Much as the Sale”.
Canada Business Services sells and services a large selection of office equipment which includes copiers, fax machines, cash registers/point of sale systems, computers, laptops, servers, networks, scales, printers, parts, software, paper supplies, ink and much more. Trained technicians provide service in the shop, in your office, or in your home.
